TruckSettle SMS/MMS Opt-In Proof
This page documents the exact opt-in flow used by TruckSettle to obtain explicit, verifiable consent from each recipient before sending automated SMS or MMS messages containing weekly settlement PDF reports.
1. Program Description
- Program name: TruckSettle Weekly Settlement Reports
- Purpose: Deliver a PDF weekly driver-settlement report (trip log, miles, gross pay, deductions, net pay) to recipients designated by the TruckSettle account holder (typically the owner-operator, accountant, dispatcher, or employer).
- Message type: Account / transactional (MMS, attaches a PDF).
- Sender: A Twilio long code / 10DLC number registered to TruckSettle.
- Recipient: An adult contact (employer, accounting, dispatcher, or custom recipient) explicitly entered into the app by the account holder, with that contact’s prior consent.
2. Message Frequency
Typically one (1) to four (4) messages per week per recipient, corresponding to weekly settlement closures or manual report sends initiated by the account holder. There is no marketing content and no promotional cadence.
3. Sample Message Content
TruckSettle Weekly Settlement [ MMS attaches: TruckSettle_Weekly_Settlement_<Driver>_<Week>.pdf ] Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply.
4. The In-App Opt-In Flow (step by step)
Recipients are added by the TruckSettle account holder inside the “Report Delivery Settings” screen. To save or send SMS to a phone number, the account holder must complete three explicit steps:
- Enable the SMS / MMS channel via a toggle (default OFF).
- Enter the recipient’s phone number (the SMS phone-number field only appears after the channel is enabled).
- Check the explicit consent confirmation, shown directly below the phone-number field, before the “Save” and “Send Test PDF” buttons can be activated.
4.1 Exact text shown next to the consent checkbox (English)
The checkbox is unchecked by default. The “Save” and “Send Test PDF” buttons are disabled until the box is checked. The consent record (timestamp, the exact consent text version, and the recipient phone number) is persisted to the TruckSettle backend at the moment the account holder saves the settings.
5. Mock-Up of the In-App Consent Screen
The mock-up below renders the same elements, in the same order, that the account holder sees inside the TruckSettle app on the Report Delivery Settings screen. Click any element for context.
Mock-up reflects the in-app screen in its initial state: consent box unchecked → Send Test PDF button disabled. The user must explicitly tap the checkbox before delivery is allowed.
6. HELP & STOP Keywords
Help reply
“TruckSettle Weekly Settlement reports. For help email support@trucksettle.com. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply.”
Stop reply
“You have been unsubscribed from TruckSettle messages and will not receive further texts. Reply START to re-subscribe.”
STOP / STOPALL / UNSUBSCRIBE / CANCEL / END / QUIT are all honored automatically by the Twilio carrier layer; the recipient is opted out immediately and will not receive further messages.
7. Where Consent Is Captured — Not on the Open Web
Consent is captured inside the authenticated TruckSettle mobile application, on the “Report Delivery Settings” screen, by the account holder confirming that the recipient has agreed to receive automated settlement reports. TruckSettle does not maintain a public web form for SMS opt-in, because messages are delivered only on behalf of paying business users to recipients they have a prior business relationship with (employer / accounting / dispatcher).
8. Privacy Policy & Terms
- Privacy Policy — explains how phone numbers and consent records are used and stored.
- Terms of Service — explains the account holder’s obligation to obtain recipient consent before adding a phone number.
